I saw a chinese movie in the 80s about an ape who were their king,but I don't remember the name.
Plus there was a dutch (I think) movie about gnomes and goblins.

That is an easy question for me. Peter Pan all the way. I have been a Peter Pan junkie since 1974. Just not in a Michael Jackson kind of way.

I'd like to add Heavy Metal (1981), a film that had been unavailable for many years due to legal claims. Great soundtrack Predates the CGI era.

That is a great one! I was 9 when that came out and snuck into see it with some friends and got caught by my dad. The film really freaked me out as a kid and I didn't really understand what was going on but the music kicked ass so that is all I cared about. I did get grounded for two weeks though.
