WHY ... it’s ... IMPOSSIBLE for ... anyone ... else ... to ... FILL Shatner’s shoes

Behold the era of the retro reboot, where nothing is sacred. There’s no beloved film or television series that can’t be polished and repackaged for a big screen do-over.

Movie makers are caught between a rock and a hard place these days. There are really no "original" stories left to be told. You can put new spins on old ideas but then people just say "oh, they are ripping of so and so".

I thought the new Trek movie was good and kept in the spirit of TOS. No one needs to "fill" Shatner's shoes because this is a different Kirk. He grew up in an alternate timeline and a different world so his personality would be different.

BTW, the kid does not say "Siberius". The only thing I can figure is that he says James Tiberius too quickly so to some people is sounds that way. I have listened to the trailer over and over and it actually sounds more like Stiberius to me.
