I hate to say it, but Disney pretty much ruins everything they touch. Okay, "ruins" is a strong word but they seem to take a great movie and turn it into fluff. Look at how Iron Man 3 was, it has those same types of corny scenes in it that "A Force Awakens" and this GOTG 2.0 did. I must be the only one that doesn't like it though, their movies make a boatload of cash.
I agree, the lighthearted dialogue is simply not possible to relate to.
People don't speak like that.
I've given up on Marvel/Disney.
I turn off those superhero films after 5mins of dialogue, every time.
They make a boatload of cash, and so do the animated movies.

Disney already owned Marvel when the first film came out. I don't see how Disney owning Marvel would have ruined this film, but not the first one.
Really its a fairly linear narrative about reincarnation as well as having a theme about karma and environmental destruction plus an awesome soundtrack.
Beauty and the Beast.
It was fine, and had good special effects.
The best thing about it was our theater had installed individual recliners, since the last time we were there.
