Dial M for Murder (1954) - IMDb

Started it on SUPERCHICK Wednesday and finished it on Cops & Robbers Thursday.

Of course I had seen parts of it as a child and I knew what the major clincher was.....but I had forgotten enough not to know the connections until revealed.

I actually saw someone reading the book yesterday and warned her not to watch the movie . Apparently I have strong feelings about this.

All the $ in the world was good. What happened to Paul III later on was tragic. He did drugs and had a stroke. Wind up blind and in a wheelchair for most of his life. Had no idea that Balthazar Getty from Brothers & Sisters was his son. Proved to me that $ doesn't give you happiness.
Wonder if the statue as a gift was a true story?
That was the easiest $ Walhberg made. He didn't do much.

Saw "East Side Sushi" on Amazon
Very enjoyable movie
Some excellent actors in supporting roles
Interesting take on prejudice among different ethnic groups

Also saw "12 Strong"
Knew it was not much before we went but we were bored and husband didn't want to see Phantom Thread...

I think it is just terribly weak filmmaking when you go to all the trouble to make a movie about 12 brave American soldiers who did a very unique mission and yet you don't bother to make them individual enough for the audience to remember their names...yes, Michael Pena and Michael Shannon stood out-and the guys looked different enough but I really couldn't even tell you Pena's character's name much less the others--and partly the sound was at fault--
Very loud explosions of course but lot of conversation was swallowed up (at least in theater we were in)...
Way too much time/effort spent on blowing stuff up -- which looks the same every time--
Yes---definitely was a manipulative movie--it just wasn't a very good manipulative movie...

Thunderball (1965) - IMDb

Something motivated me to watch it; maybe it was listening to Tom Jones on another song.

The Girl on the Train (2016) - Emily Blunt

The movie gets mediocre reviews at best. And we all know it all comes down to personal taste. THis movie was as close to outstanding that I've seen in quite a while.
