We rewatched “Shooter”, with Mark Wahlberg, Rhonda Mitra and Kate Mara (like all three of them) a couple weeks ago when an acquaintance visited.

Robin Hood - the new one that just came out

Taron Egerton is very pretty. I enjoy watching him on screen.
I didn't mind the anachronistic costumes and set décor -- think "A Knight's Tale"

Other than that, the movie was pretty bad. It wasn't particularly engaging. I was ready for it to end. I read a review that called it the "Worst. Robin Hood. Movie. Ever." I think I might agree.

"The Doll Squad"

Femme Force Femme Force (Earth-616) | Marvel Database | FANDOM powered by Wikia it is not!

Sort of a combination of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and "The Ambushers" with a heavier emphasis on the latter (and there is a lot of similarity in the latter) and a few levels beneath it where the guards are only effective when the story needs for them to be.

If you like nicely shaped women running around being victorious, it's a nice move.....but seriously maintain your state of disbelief in order to enjoy.

The Town. 10 out of 10.

I needed it, after that horrible last movie (that only cost me a rather odd $5.86 or something to see, Saturday morning matinee... I will see all my movies like this now) "Widows." It was... unengaging.. with maybe "two" good scenes, the rest not very well developed. One poster here disagrees.. at least I didn't spend too much. It was almost as bad as "Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado." Part 1 was EXCELLENT. Part 2 did not need to be made....

"Titanic" (a TV mini series)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115392...=nm_flmg_act_6

A decent Titanic flick, well cast and well acted. I bought it in a George C. Scott buying spree but for the famous people playing their parts, I didn't see those famous actors but the characters they were playing.

I think my DVD copy was made from VHS for I could see the drift on the flat screen but that didn't take away from the flick. Buying so many DVDs, I do look at the buyers' comments on Amazon before I buy and that is a comment that is made in the 1 star section. To me, I'm not sure if that is such a problem. The worse I've seen of that technical issue is my DVD copy, made from the VHS, of "Roboman" and it is quite noticeable when watched....but when remembered, the mind fills in.

Back to the flick. Certain people weren't in this flick. IMDB says that Harry Andrews, the designer, was not there; I didn't see Colonel Gracie either. While it seems that scenes were made from the book, "A Night to Remember", there was no sign of the baker. In fact in this flick, no one stepped off the stern.

That said, it didn't detract from the enjoyment of the flick, the ability to get into it........including the dread and realization of steerage finally able to get to the boat deck and realize just how screwed they were.

As far as the love affairs the flick rotates around, I wasn't terribly caught up in them, didn't terribly get caught up in them. The 5th officer's finally lines, though, were particularly memorable, a version of "traveling is good for the mind". Finally, between how Captain Smith and Ismay were portrayed and how Captain Lord was portrayed, it was sort of "inspirational" to show that when you think you ought to do more but hesitate.....go on and do more.

"Widows" Steve McQueen 3/5
Script was weak IMO--the two strands (political/heist) were intertwined but w/o real definition--glossed over--
Cast is way above the script but even the acting was more motion than invested--which is surprise==expected more...
and this should have been much better movie considering the talent associated with it...
