Black & Blue - Excellent movie!

Before that...

Gemini Man - Some parts were good, overall OK.

El Coyote - The storyline was OK, but it was the most low budget movie I've ever seen on the big screen. Movies of that low quality usually go straight to DVD.

Tell Me Who I Am

Netflix documentary, very intense & disturbing but handled as sensitively & authentically as possible. Anyone who watches it should read the story behind the brothers' decision to make to make it.

Breath (2018)

Starring and directed by Simon Baker. Coming-of-age type of story set in Australia. Two teenaged boys (best friends) meet an older surfer who teaches them about life, through surfing.

I really liked it. The acting was really good, including the younger actors. It is slow-paced, though. It's set in the '70s, and I always like movies from that time period because it was a time when we kids/teenagers had to entertain ourselves by being outdoors and coming up with things to occupy our time. We were naturally "present" and engaged with our surroundings and the outside world, not staring into a screen (like I'm doing right now).

My only complaint is about the audio. I don't really have a hard time with their accents, but it didn't help when the background noise was loud combined with a lot of low, murmuring type of dialogue.

"The Jewel of the Nile"
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089370/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Never really saw it in the 80s. It was a Wardroom movie which meant you saw it in bits and pieces and back then, I saw the opening and the F-16 scene and that was it.

It's good escapism but nothing earth shattering. I suppose if I had seen its prequel, I might think different but given a choice between this flick and "That Man from Rio", I would take the latter every time.

The Ballad of Lefty Brown (2017)

Bill Pullman was really good in this. Loved his character. Great cast in general.

As his boss, Eddie Johnson, prepares to become a Montana senator, loyal Lefty Brown prepares to be the man in charge for the first time in his life. But his plans to run Eddie's ranch are upended when Eddie is murdered -- and now Lefty wants revenge.

The Magnificent Seven (2016)

I really enjoyed the movie and cast. Denzel played a good lead role.

Have been lax in posting... Here's the last three:

Let the Sunshine In (2017), Claire Denis 94 netflix dvd

Foreign (French) with subs. The ending is truly unique - I've never seen anything like it. It starts with a cameo, then an extended scene goes on as the credit rolls. If seeing this in a theater, you'd be glued to your seat until the lights went on. Criterion Collection disc, and all supplements are there.

FAT: A Documentary (2019), Peter Curtis Pardini

A must watch for everyone and their loved ones.

The Mustang (2019), Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre

Not bad actually. Watched it all the way through.
