My records show that I ordered this, so it must have been recommended (ie, PUSHOVER) during another buying spree.
It's a pretty good Saturday nite movie, especially since it is almost 3 hours long. I know IMDB says 2:18 but my DVD says 2:50. So at almost 3 hours, one needs plenty of time to watch it.It is relaxing enough in that I just watched the movie, let things play out as they did, and didn't try to predict anything.....though the initial real reason why he was there was pretty apparent.
It gave a nice refreshed feeling having watched it. Say a 9.1.
Blow The Man Down: A black comedy and some not so funny murder in a small coastal Maine town and the surprising undercurrent of lawless activity found out by two sisters.
I have spent time Bailey Island, Ore and the Harpswell area .You get a good feeling of the area with this movie.
Well, I'll give it this over Battlestar Galactica in that it starts out from step 1 showing how they really are different people that "us". Pretty good though I wonder if there is enough time for things to go so terribly wrong.
About 0200 this morning, I couldn't sleep. About 0300, I deided to give up tossing and turning, since I am not subject to clocks right now, and take in a movie. This was the first DVD in the VHS to DVD drawer that was sitting out, (and I have not seen) so I popped it in. not knowing what it was about, half expeting a Peter Sellers flick by the title.
Talk about watching your old movies on late night. It's a Doris Day musical and a nice way to idly burn 100+ minutes when you can't get to sleep. I shut it down with still 20 minutes to go and just finished it now. It does have its down point, however, in relation to the times we are in for it talks of unions, low wages, need for a raise, and strikes.
Other than that, however, it is a nice getaway. Say about 8.8.

A little hard to follow with the accents but still entertaining. About a 7.5.
