Oz The Great and Powerful - good. DS liked it.
Monster University with DS at the theater - very cute even though I liked the first part better.
Movie 43 - oh come on! What was that?!?!
Contagion - rather boring
Hope Springs - only made it through 30% have to go on watching tonight.

I have watched one of the great movies. It is Doom. I started seeing with the hope of taking some positive emotions. It gives me them. The main hero looks like killing eagle. It is unforgettable. Really, I do think so.

This week, I watched Spring Breakers and Argo. Spring Breakers should have been a 5-minute music video, it was beautifully shot but devoid of any real plot or meaning. I enjoyed James Franco's character, though. Argo had a decent cast (apart from Ben Affleck, the star, who can't act his way out of a paper bag IMO), liked the 70's feel, but the story wasn't all that well-written. Predictable and totally underwhelming.

Great description, FL. We felt the same about Argo & Affleck, but at least he doesn't mumble under his breath like his brother, Casey. It took 1/2 the movie for me to stop giggling & get used to his 80s boy-band haircut, as well. Not a bad style, but with his l o n g face, well, it doesn't suit him. Great real-life story, mediocre movie.

I just watched:

Drinking Buddies: It honestly dragged a bit for me. It was decent acting but the story never felt like it went anywhere

Oblivion: I honestly expected this to suck but it was not half bad. For a Sci Fi flick you have to really suspend reality but it was better then I was expecting and had a couple nice twists.

Evil Dead: Definitely not as good as the original, lacked suspense IMO.

Django Unchained: Really well done story. A bit long and dragged in a couple parts but for a three hour movie it went by pretty quick.

The Purge. As a child of the 80s of course I loved all the violence and carnage. But at the same time that is an unsettling look at the future of the U.S. A future that I hope I'm not around for
