We just saw TAMMY today. It isn't as funny as THE HEAT was, but it was cram packed with popular actors who had almost nothing to do. Susan Sarandon was good in it, but totally miscast as Melissa McCarthy's grandmother. It was mildly amusing, if you like Melissa McCarthy.
Moonrise Kingdom. Very odd little movie. Why did they cast actors (the two 12 year olds) who looked like younger versions of Harry Potter and Hermoine? It seemed like it could not have been a coincidence, but the symbolism eludes me.
Over the weekend, girlfriend and I watched three films.
"Lone Survivor" was a somber film honoring true American heroes.
"Transcendence" was good premise, yet failed to make singularity look interesting. This was too bad for new director W. Pfister.
"The Raid 2" was best action movie this year anywhere on the planet. Just saying....
Also, I've stayed away from this franchise until now because I had always viewed the F&F movies as mindless, fast car-chase movies which appealed mainly to younger people who were around age 30 and younger.
Hey, I wanted to apologize if that came out the wrong way. However, hopefully most people understood what I was trying to say.
Horrible Bosses; kinda silly and off the wall, but I enjoyed it anyway, although something tells me that the sequel which will be released on November 26th won't be as good.
Independence Day, on a movie channel on the fourth. I recorded it and recently watched it. I noticed when the cable guy gets on the plane from the White House, he looks down at the count down, and it says.... 9-11. Then followed by the very erie scenes of fireballs and smoke rushing down streets full of people. Most mose eire.....
The Raid: Redemption (2011) - non-stop action with f bombs in subtitles!!
