Noah - and I HATED it!!!

I'm no religious fanatic, but I grew up going to private Christian schools (then went to a Christian-based university) so I thought the movie was going to be biblically based. What the hell was I thinking???!!! It was just WAY too out there for me!

Last Saturday we watched "Stand-Up Guys". We weren't sure what to expect. It was billed as a comedy, and although it had comic moments I really appreciated the portrait of the relationship between the Walken and Pacino characters.

For this weekend I just realized that I should try to find "All the President's Men" to rent and celebrate the glorious 40th anniversary.

It's an OK movie! But do you really need to flash your d*** many times Mr. Segel??

I thought that movie was a complete yawn & totally not worthy of all the Oscars it got.

Watched Proof of Life with Russel Crowe and Meg Ryan last night. I haven't watched it in ages and didn't remember it being as good as I thought it was this time around. And... ahem... Russel Crowe certainly seems to know how to deliver a kiss. Didn't notice that either the first time I watched it and can't imagine why not! Anyway, the story, the setting, the acting... just all of it was profoundly engaging, at least for me. It's shocking when one realizes that anyone of us can be a victim of kidnapping. It doesn't just happen to corporate officials anymore; everyone's fair game. If you're caught and don't have ransom money, you're most often paralyzed and relieved of your body parts for black market organ donation... while you're still alive. Charming!

Mahrie.

I have no earthly idea. All of the people who live here are big into binge watching for 14 hours a day or more. Buffy, Angel, Bones, Smallville, Gilmore Girls, Haven, Merlin, Stargate, Stargate: Atlantis, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, etc etc etc. Then when one series is over another person says "Oh I didnt get to watch any of that!" and then they proceed to watch the entire series ALL OVER AGAIN!"

When everyone finally goes to bed i turn the stupid contraption off and just enjoy the silence (even though ive got dozens of things ive owned for years and still havent watched).

Just saw Boxing Helena again. Sherilyn Fenn in that movie is so beyond stunning it's unbelievable. She's now in Ray Donovan and is still very pretty for being an older woman. God some of those scenes in that movie are so hot!!!

Pan's Labyrinth. Really amazing movie, in my opinion. The fairy tale qualities of one side of the story clash with the brutal violence on the other side. Movie violence doesn't normally bother me, but some of these scenes actually made me squeamish. Despite that, I really liked it.
