About "Hercules and the Captive Women", I watched it a second time (really wasn't paying attention the first time) and it's not such a bad flick, despite the low quality of transfer technology. It's not earth shattering but it meets my basic qualification of a diversion one can get lost in for 90 minutes or so.
It's been quite some time since I've been to the theatre to see a film, but I went today to see Brooklyn. I'd read and loved the book by Colm Tóibín, and this was a fabulous adaptation. Saoirse Ronan has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her lead role, and she was wonderful.
You may have read my previous post about seeing this movie. I wish I could see it again, but it's only playing at one local independent theater 'til Thursday.
I was thinking about buying the book, but your post has sealed the deal. I'm headed over to my local (independent) bookstore to pick up a copy. Thank you for your recommendation.
