I have a question about the first Die Hard movie? Why didn't John McClane ask Holly why she punched Thornburg at the end of the movie while he was trying to interview her, also why didn't John McClane feel surprised about Holly punching him? That was one part I could never understand of the movie.

I also wished they would've showed the Maid watching Holly punching Thornburg on TV, I'm sure she would've been thrilled about seeing Thornburg getting punched by a woman on National TV

Because it was pointless and unnecessary to the plot and presumably they would've discussed it later "off camera" at another time

Plus, after all that he had been through that night he probably didn't much care. I liked that the first movie didn't spell every little detail out for the audience.

A good example is the scene where they are trying to get the code for the vault. You can tell that the black guy and the big German guy had a bet going on whether or not he would give it up. But they never come right out and say that they had a bet. You have to sort of figure it out on your own.

Because he knows better. Don't question the actions of an angry woman who just punched a 6'2 tall man...

Because McClane knows that if Holly is that mad at someone, he probably has it comin'.

A better question.. Some radio show was debating this the other day.. Is Die Hard a "Christmas Movie"?

I say yes..

Arguments for.. Certainly not a 'classic' Christmas story.. But, it does take place at Christmastime.

Arguments against.. Released in July. Not exactly a 'classic' Christmas story.
