Thats sad.... I wonder if his scene is in tact on the first VHS release? (Or if ya found a copy recorded from analogue cable in the 80s)

Thank you for this thread! It's A Mad, Mad World is one of my all-time favorite movies!
I wish it was one of those annual movies they show on tv for Easter or Thanksgiving like the Sound of Music (another one of my favorites).

I saw this when it premiered in the theaters when I was a kid, hysterical funny movie. Still enjoy watching it today. I lived in Long Beach, CA when they were filming parts of it and remember them closing down Long Beach Blvd and downtown for filming. Great movie, a classic.

Not true. Keaton's small part (it was always small) is there, although it's not the role he was originally to get.

I was 8 when it came out and still love it to this day.
Who knew that many years later we would have been promised prosperity "under a Big Dubya!"

Ben-Hur is another long one. Years ago before cable, they would show it once a year around Easter "without commercial interruption" and the whole family would watch together in the living room.
LOL, I love that movie, although it looks a little hokey today.

They should do a fan lookalike type reenactment of scenes from the movie. No car chases, naturally, but the arguments were hysterical. Make it a contest/ convention.

How about a remake, It's STILL a Mad Mad World, with modern actors?
Here's a list of original cast members!
Who would YOU cast?
