What are yours? Which Snidely Whiplash type stuck in your head, it could be male or female.

I enjoyed Agent Smith in the Matrix. He appeared to be so robotic, so filled with hatred for humans, yet he was a complex guy.
"Why, Mr. Anderson? Why do you persist?"
Hugo Weaving is a very good actor in other films as well.

Also Darth Vader (loved his signature theme: Dahm Dahm Dahm Dahm dee DAHM)
Of course, his later switch of allegiance was touching.

One villain I enjoyed quite a bit was Billy Zane, Kate Winslet's fiance in the movie Titanic. That movie was overwrought, with horrible dialogue, but Zane's dastardly persona fit right in, so smooth, so narcissistic, and so self-serving.

Anyone else have a memorable villain?

Hannibal.
I just finished reading the book by the same name, and really enjoyed reading about his exquisite taste.

Freddy Kreuger!

I'm huge fan of 80's slasher flicks. A bunch of us used to go to the movies in the 80's and cheer for Freddy, Michael Myers, etc.

Yippie Kay Yay! Another vote for Alan Rickman. Die Hard would have been so much less interesting without him. Kinda like the sequels.

Darth Vader is the all-time greatest movie villain.

I'd say Hannibal Lecter ought to make the list, but two things disqualify him: First, in Silence of the Lambs he's really more of an anti-hero than a true villain. Seconly, based on the last two films and books, Hannibal has jumped the shark.

Don Corleone? Again: Anti-hero, not villain.

So there you go. Darth Vader. Best movie villain ever.

C'mon, Steve-o, who is it?
I started thinking about the Tarantino movies, but did not come with a Betty.

However, I did think of another horrible villain:
Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
She was just pitiless.
