I just watched my 1983 copy I have and THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WOODS!!!!! (It has the original analogue master on it (I replaced my other copy with this one))
I watched closely as they were walking down the yellow road....
I remember playing the scene over and over trying to find it. Its a hoax. I did hear the film syncs up to Pink Floyd's "Dark side of the moon" though. Anyone know about this?
Yes I have heard that but havent tried it.... (I have the record)
Where do you flip to side 2 in the movie?? (I mean it will take some time to change the record to side 2 (Must have to pause the movie I reckon))
Use a CD or digital format youtube maybe. You have to start once the Lion starts roaring I heard. I never tried it for the record, I don't have a copy of the Wizard of Oz.
I love my 1983 copy Mr Scott!!!!! -- It has the original 1955 re-release analog master (The 1989 one I had was not analog) and its beautiful!!!! (I LOVE THE BLACK AND WHITE KANSAS SCENES (Not sepitone) -- MUCH BETTER)
Doing it manually requires you to press play on DSotM when the Lion (at the beginning of MGM films) begins to roar for his third and final time.
AS SOON as he starts to roar.
Even then it isn't perfect because some players start immediately and some have a slight delay. That's why I burned a copy when i found the perfect sync for my equipment.
I would recommend doing it with a CD as much as you despise digital it will make it much simpler.
Otherwise the time to flip the record would be after the twister scene, when the house touches down in Oz, which should coincide with the end of "Great Gig in the Sky".
Problem is you now have to resynch it and I have no idea where the exact synch point would be for side 2.
Scratch that.
If you can get it so that the cash register sound at the beginning of "Money" coincides with the first shot out the door of the colorful Oz, then you're probably good.
Lastly, the CD ends LONG before the movie does. I just put the disc on repeat, but it really didn't do much good.
Yes I imagine the record/CD does end long before the movie ends......
I dunno why they deny doing this?? WHO CARES!! -- Its a good movie and they like it!!
