Saw the movie Invictus this week, loved it, thought it was very inspiring.

Title of movie is taken from the poem Invictus, and is also inspiring. The title is taken from the Latin, meaning unconquered / unconquerable.

Story deals with turbulent times in South Africa, as they sought to move past the era of apartheid and into a future many feared. The game of rugby turned out to be a cause that South Africans of all colors were able to come together about and move their nation forward.

Matt Damon played an amazingly believable role as captain of the national rugby team, the Springboks, who won the 1995 Rugby World Cup.

I keep saying that true stories make the best movies. It was one of those movies where the audience STAYS in their seats to see the credits, which are worth seeing as the credits are interspersed with actual photo's of that era and the actual participants.

I highly recommend this movie; two

Enjoyed it. The story was pretty well told, the flick was wonderfully shot, and the rugby was great. I will buy this DVD.

I liked Invictus. I wanted to love it -- I generally love sports movies. But while I agree that the movie was very good on most levels, it failed to really move me emotionally. That surprised the heck out of me. I fully expected to go in and feel the emotional punch I felt with, say, Chariots of Fire and Miracle. But I didn't. I left the theatre happy but dry-eyed.

Like Mike, I kind of prefer movies based on factual events.

Will plan on seeing this. Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman are two of my favorite actors.

Anyone else annoyed by the "Colorblind" song shoehorned in during the helicopter flight? Everything else about the movie was pretty great.

I guess I am the minority here. I thought it was dull but I can see why the majority of people would like it.
