I saw this movie over the weekend. The previews looked good and I love Mel Gibson. When I think of Mel, I think of BraveHeart. He was so sexy and hot. However, in the Edge of Darkness Mel is totally unsexy. He looks like he's aged about 110 years. He did put forth a good performance though, but I really did not like the movie overall. It was not original. It was slow moving and just not at all what I expected from a Mel Gibson movie. I would give this movie a solid C because Mel has the most beautiful eyes, but I would not run out to see this one. Anyone else see it and have any thoughts?

I kind of figured it was going to be crap. From the previews it looked like a ripoff off mystic river and Taken.

We were going to go see it tomorrow night but mainly because it was filmed here in Boston and we wanted to see how it looks on the big screen.

Yes, Travolta's movie has to be way better. I plan on seeing that one too.

I saw this movie last weekend, and I agree that he has really aged. I'm sure the divorce, 8th baby, new girlfriend, etc is taking a bit of a toll. I was glad to hear he quit smoking, though.
He is still one of my favorite actors of all time, and I thought it was interesting that this is the 3rd film in which his name is Tom!! (just some wacky trivia I thought of!)

It wasn't that good. They tried to be two movies in one. A revenge thriller (Taken) and a conspiracy plot and neither one worked.

It isn't horrible, just very forgetable

I just saw this movie this weekend and I have to say that I wasn't that impressed with it. I feel like everyone else did. It was ok, but not anything great. The movie was just to slow. It started out good, then got stale and predictably boring real quickly. Then the buildup to these scenes would leave little impact. The pace was just very slow, predictable and there were no surprise twists involved in the plot. The writing to me just seemed lazy and all too predictable, just like the plot. In the end, it just became a slower paced Taken without the good fight scenes. Overall I would give it a C.

Taken wasn't a great movie by any means, but I'll give Taken a lot of credit for knowing what type of movie it was and executing it.

We just came back from seeing it and we liked it....being from Boston it was nice to recognize a few places and his his was set in the town where some of my relatives live.
Personally we didn't analyze it to death we just watched a movie and thought it was good.
