Nomination isn't being voted in for induction but I'm happy to hear this and hope they make it. They work their a**es off, touring constantly for years, talk shows and tv appearances, Bon Jovi does good works, great writing, consistent solid body of work. And Bon Jovi is still gorgeous.

More proof that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke.

^^^^

Yep, pretty much. I don't even care if Rush gets in there anymore. They're too good for the HOF.

Not even a wink toward the Butterfield Blues Band?

Epic fail.

I think Bon Jovi has stood the test of time and deserves to be there.

There are countless number of far superior bands that deserve to be inducted well before Bon Jovi. Here's a few of those bands:
  • Deep Purple
  • ELO
  • Emerson, Lake, and Palmer
  • Iron Maiden
  • Jethro Tull
  • Judas Priest
  • Moody Blues
  • Rush
  • T. Rex
  • Yes
I could go on and on. Bon Jovi isn't a bad band, but they are definitely not deserving of a nomination until some of the better, more influential bands that have been snubbed are inducted.

Also - LL Cool J and The Beastie Boys are NOT rock music!!! They don't belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Beastie Boys? LL Cool J? Bon Jovi?

And just for the record, I also can't stand Alice Cooper or Tom Waits, but they're better than the three listed above.

I am open to almost any type of music, I have heard many songs from the band Bon Jovi, and I have to say that there is absolutely nothing that rises to "HOF" material, I mean, nothing. This is like the baseball writers nominating Dave Kingman. I say this as a native New Jerseyan, incidentally. It's the music equivalent of fast food: think of Bobby Flay having a throwdown against Chef Boyardee. You can't entertain the possibility of putting this band or solo artist on the same platform as the Beatles, Chuck Berry, Led Zeppelin, or Bob Dylan. It's ludicrous to even ponder.

Every band has its super fans, doesn't mean Bon Jovi doesn't deserve the nomination.

For example - Deep Purple? I figure they were a one album, one hit wonder. Smoke on the Water.....whatever. Check wiki, they've done more than one album. But who knows that? Some fan that thinks they are the bomb and deserve a nomination. Maybe their music is great, but who knows? Its just a few voices
