G-Unit ethered him in 2009 so why is he still popular, especially that he's been proven to be the biggest hip hop fraud of all time?

G Unit's not the authority on anything, far as I know. Most people cannot name anyone out of their group, excusing 50 cent and Lloyd Banks. I'm not a fan of either, but anyway he seems to have ALOT of friends in the rap/music industry which is probably what is keeping him in the loop. He also produces for various artists, so I guess he's behind the scenes and known to those folks.

Because kids today don't care about "street cred" and all of that. Drake was Jimmy on Degrassi High for crying out loud! Most of their favorite rappers wear tight jeans, kiss other men in the mouth, and sound like coke-addicts. So I don't think the revelation of Rick Ross' former career as a correctional officer was going to be a crushing blow to his popularity among the 16-25 crowd.

As long as your beats are hot, and you throw in some occasional lines like "The game needs change and I'm the cashier," you'll have lots of ringtone success.

True.
I wonder though, how come back in the day when Em and 50 murdered Murder, Inc and Ja Rule lyrically, Ja (along with Fat Joe) career got destroyed too? Were listeners smarter back then or what?

"G Unit's not the authority on anything, far as I know. Most people cannot name anyone out of their group, excusing 50 cent and Lloyd Banks."

G Unit is the realest group out there. 50 is a beast and so is Banks, especially lately. Forget what you heard on the radio or in the club. Listen to the rest of their material. Most people are irrelevant.

This is what buried Rick Ross btw for those unfamiliar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2pe0utZNq0, on top of when fifty banged his ex wife, took his kid to a game (who Ross didn't pay alimony to and can't see legally) and got ahold of Ross' tax returns that showed he's way poorer than he looks.

I'm gonna lean back {Overweight Joseph reference to show I'm in-the know} and stay out of this Rickie Rothman thread.
