Would he have eventually gone into hard rock? Would he have become freaky like the Stones and Beatles. Maybe if Holly had lived we would never have heard of the Beatles. Or maybe music would have taken a turn that we can't imagine since he probably would have dominated the music scene eventually. What do you think?

Buddy Holly didn't live long enough to make it into the 27 Club, which is incredible (and unbearably sad), considering what he accompolished. Though he died at the age of twenty-two, he is among the most influential rock musicians of all time.
What is so tragic is that he had such advanced plans for the future. He was going to learn flamenco guitar and collaborate with soul and gospel singers, and he had registered for classes at the actors studio where James Dean and Brando studied.
One day I would like to see a movie about an alternate universe where Buddy Holly decided not to do that last tour and became the most advanced artist of all time, played by Gary Busey as the older super advanced Holly of course.
But there is nothing sadder than contemplating what might have been, so let's move on to what might yet be.
