Really like both bands but the thing with The Beatles is if you really listen to them , especially their later stuff it's a carnival of sound for the ears, a bass line, a french horn, backing vocals....it's very busy music. The Doors , eh, you can only do so much with an electric organ and a guitar, drums..but they did it very well.

I found that they both represented the '60's so well. And were also a big part of it coming to an end.
The Beatles win, hands down. The songs, the depth, the passion of The Beatles,, pure magic.
I have never liked the Doors, though. It's one of the few bands I wan't listen to.
The organ really turns me off, & I never thought Jim Morrison was anything special.
if we are talking strictly songwriting then I'd give it to Lennon-McCartney, they are the cat's meow, nobody even comes close 'cept maybe for Bob Dylan
