Aren't Creedance Clearwater Revival the original and best Southern Rock band? Never mind that they were from California, they were one of the first to turn that rural but electric guitar roadhouse sound into big record sales.

CCR is as well known as The Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The ones I listed were not. You have to be a diehard to know. Strangely enough after the plane crash in 1977 ^ some of those band members are current members in Lynyrd Skynyrd.

It's the same genre as far as I am concerned. They were also very well known and liked as well.
