There are quite a few great songs that I would never have known about, except that I heard them first on TV ads.

Andra Day - Coolin' in the Streets feat. Ziggy Marley [OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO] - YouTube

David Bowie - Sound and Vision (Sonjay Remix) [ Sony Xperia Z Werbung ] - YouTube

Tongue Tied - GROUPLOVE [official video] - YouTube

I am intentionally leaving that horrible Silverado POS by Will Hoge off my list.

"Pink Moon" by Nick Drake. Learned about his history and music. Was not aware he had died long ago and the song was much older.

Haunting, great song.

I remember being obsessed around 1998-1999 with finding the identity of a song in a Mitsubishi commercial. It turned out to be an obscure Icelandic band called Gus Gus and the song was Ladyshave.

Someone mentioned Nick Drake's Pink Moon earlier.

Default gap

I remember hearing a catchy instrumental in a contractor jeans commercial by GAP and always thought it was written for the commercial it seems to be a real song by a band called cornershop.

It is sad when commercials turn people onto music. I do not approve and admonish all artist who use their music in tv shows and commercials.
