1. Michael Jackson.

Most Popular Song: "Thriller"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOnqjkJTMaA

Hey, he was the King of Pop. Just about everyone knows the words to Thriller or Bad.

2. The Beatles

Most Popular Song: "Hey Jude"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDdI7GhZSQA

Still one of the most liked today. Everyone knows them.

3. Katy Perry

Most Popular Song: "Roar"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CevxZvSJLk8

The words to this song DO get stuck in your head, be warned. The little katy cats will claw your eyes out if you have anything bad to say about their momma.

4. Lady Gaga

Most Popular Song: "Bad Romance"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrO4YZeyl0I

Because of her STRONG fanbase, she pretty much will always be one of the most respected in the pop business. You literally can't criticize her because her fans will be over you like flies and a rotten hamburger.

5. P!nk

Most Popular Song: "Just Give Me A Reason"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpQFFLBMEPI

Being one of the only actually talented pop artists today, she has a strong following. Try talking smack on one her music videos, you'll get at least 100 responses from angry 20-something year-olds.

6. Britney Spears

Most Popular Song: "...Baby One More Time"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-u5WLJ9Yk4

Okay, I will admit her old music really annoys me...anyway, she's been around for years and has had fans since she was was a little girl. Try talking smack about her on social media, you'll get into an argument with some angry pre-teen.

7. Taylor Swift

Most Popular Song: "You Belong with Me"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuNIsY6JdUw

Everyone knows someone that is a major Taylor Swift fan. A daughter, a cousin, a friend, there's really no escaping it.

8. Adele

Most Popular Song: "Rolling in the Deep"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYEDA3JcQqw

Everyone loves Adele! She's the ONLY pop artist that rides off of talent alone. Some people consider her "overrated", but they're usually chewed out by just about 90% of the population for saying anything offensive in regard to Adele.

9. Avril Lavigne

Most Popular Song: "Girlfriend"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg59q4puhmg

She mainly liked by the skater/bmx crowd and scene kids. Everyone knows that they're the most extreme form of fans ever...you'll end up with a black eye if you insult any of their favorite artists.

10. Enrique Igleasias

Most Popular Song: "I Like It"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9_n8jakvWU

His looks...fangirls will murder you if you talk trash.

Yep, Adele has talent. Her 19 & 21 albums are very good. First time I heard her was with the Raconteurs,

Well, he DOES have a huge fangirl base. Ask any girl you know under the age of 20 who he is, they'll probably tell you the most sexy man alive.

I like all of the artists on this list, but I will admit that I really hate Britney Spears before her Femme Fatale album. I'm not a big fan of Avril music or Enrique's...Lady Gaga is okay, but I usually have to listen to her songs about a good 3-4 times to like them...I do like Born This Way since it has hints of Pop Rock/Madonna 90s in it - which is my favorite genre/sound.

As far as a loyal fan base for decades you can't find any stronger group than those that love Todd Rundgren. How many of those you listed will be attending concerts and so forth 30 or 40 years down the road? Not many that's for sure.

Where did these come from? I agree their fanbases are strong (I would add Beliebers, Directioners and even Smilers in there.)
