However... he wrote that in 1997. Look at how much terrible music was after that.
He has an entire genre called "Teen Death Songs" which is obviously a 1950's "Billy and Susie's car stalled on the railroad tracks and.... SPLAT!" thing. But look at all the death related gangsta rap since then. There are all sorts of lists out there about sad rap songs for funerals, etc.
