Who remembers a video that staged people on a large chessboard? (singer, song)

This was in a video mostly in black and white. To the best of my understanding the sub-story was drugs in Asia. The video included a large chessboard, a song more spoken than sung, and cutaway views of Bangcok and other Asian places.

I don't remember the name of the singer or the title. It is a very odd voice, and and odd video. I don't know that the singer ever made another song or video as memorable.

Yes! It is this one with Murray Head. "One Night in Bankok."

I was never in that scene, so I really don't know anything about it. I just really enjoyed the uniqueness of the video. It still doesn't make sense.
