Just found out that Louis Johnson of the 70s soul group The Brothers Johnson died yesterday. This is sad coming on the heels of another great great guitar man B.B. King.
Louis Johnson is widely regarded as one of the all time great bass players. If there were an SRV of the four string, he was it.

We've lost another great one, and one who was underrated in the business. Below is their best-known hit, and just one great example of this man's work.
Oh, sorry to hear that. He played on lots of Quincy Jones studio productions, for instance on several Michael Jackson albums. He had a very specific sound, that I recognize immediately when I hear it.
I heard about this a couple months ago. He was one of the best bass players ever.
