My first Major,,, Great Western Festival-1972.Lincoln (http://tinpan.fortunecity.com/ebony/546/Great-Westernlineup.html - broken link) although I had seen a few 60s Soul bands prior to it along with a Hawkwind freebie..
100s since and without doubt the worst Joe Satriani,,
Too many to list for best but The Faces come close..
Next stop this Sunday at Leeds to see MAN and with luck Spencer Davis next week...

I`ve just remembered we`ve done something more or less the same as this before..Page 11....

I cut-and-pasted this short list from another concert thread. I didn't list every single concert, just some favorite shows.
One of my least favorite concerts was Bob Dylan in the 90's. He just didn't seem into it. I've heard he can be really good or really bad.

The Doors, May 1970--Morrison was drunk on Coors.

The Who, June 1970--shook hands with Pete Townshend

Santana the same year

tear-gassed at the Jethro Tull Red Rocks concert--that was memorable, '71

The Grateful Dead
, Boulder, summer of 72, they threw lids of pot from the stage, each baggie had papers and matches neatly placed within

Springsteen at Red Rocks, '78--the man gives his all--and then some

Warren Zevon8-10 times

Neil Young at Red Rocks, 2001--Cowgirl In the Sand in the driving rain--he recorded this concert

Richard Thompson at Denver Botanic Gardens, 2002--lovely show under the stars

The White Stripes at Red Rocks, 2005--smokin' hot

Red Hot Chili Peppers--VooDoo Festival in New Orleans, 2006--transcendent, I love the Chilies

I envy you on Madness.

I envy you here as well. Why were they bad? Did Mr. McGowan get too drunk to perform?

I have seen the Pogues 5 times and and on two occasions it was really, really embarrassing. He staggered on stage, kept dropping his microphone, was swearing at the crowd, slurring his words even more than usual and was eventually taken off the stage on one occasion. I actually felt embarrassed for the rest of the band.

Shame because when they're good, they are brilliant!

Madness is one of my favourite bands and they were fabulous, full of energy and really good at interacting with audience. I cannot believe Suggs is now advertising ready meals on TV in the UK though....

Reel Big Fish
Flogging Molly
Tilly and the Wall
Mirah
The Blow
Broken Social Scene
Regina Spektor
Bain Mattox
Ozomalti

In the next month I'll also be sing State Radio, Minus the Bear (two of my favorite bands), and Third Eye Blind all playing shows at my school.

The worst I've been to was Broken Social Scene. The opening bands both dropped out at the last minute and BSS didn't come out until their regularly appointed time, so we all stood in a packed gym for 3 hours waiting around. Then the lead singer forgot the lyrics and was obviously drunk and stoned out of his mind. :\

The worst concert was New Found Glory. This was probably around 2000, before they got huge. My friend was really into all these emo bands and I went to some shows with him. Horrid band. I saw Saves The Day during this time as well, and they were pretty good.

Let's see...

+ U2 - on their Unforgettable Fire tour. I was about 9 at the time, but I still remember it.
+ Whitesnake - I was about 8 or 9, and my dad took me. He didn't know anything about them, and they used lots of off-color language. We left pretty early!
+ Billy Joel
+ Bon Jovi (with Cinderella opening!!! How jealous are YOU right now?)
+ The Decemberists
+ Sonic Youth
+ Neko Case (the best show I've ever attended)
+ The Fall (2nd best show)
+ Gordon Lightfoot

Hmmm....Garth Brooks is excellent live, as are Depeche Mode and Jack Ingram. I don't think I've ever seen a truly bad concert....thank God.
