Of Today: The High Kings! Brand new, I want to marry one of those guys, so they will sing me to sleep at night.
Of the past: Elvis, I still love him, "and I always will"!
Glen Campbell runs a good one too
(I am podunk and old fashioned, but I like some funky stuff to exercise to)
But all time, from my generation, and my brother and brother in law being the high school rock band, I have to say Led Zeplin takes it!
When i was a little kid in the early 70's i listened to ''Bubblegum'' rock groups like the Osmonds, Partridge Family, Jackson 5 and the Monkees etc..43
But when Queen came out with the album Bohemian Rhapsody in the mid 70's and i heard the song '' I'm in love with my car '' sung by Roger Taylor and not Freddy Mercury that swung me over to my hard rock/metal leaning ways.
Today: I'll listen to almost anything but if someone had a gun to my head and forced me to choose a favourite I'd probably have to go with Muse. Love that falsetto.
Yesterday: Like I said in my previous answer I like lots of different music so it's difficult to choose but I particularly love the Blue Öyster Cult's earlier stuff (Agents of Fortune was one of the best albums of the 20th century imo).
Current: Christian Rock, Christian Contemporary, Country
Past (and still listening): southern rock, hard rock, fusion, and a whole host of others.
I was definately not listening to what everyone else was listening to. I experimented with many types of music. When I got to do some college radio in the early 80's, it opened my eyes to all sorts of stuff. As a musician, I will listen to just about anything except death metal and rap.
Old stuff: Classic prog-rock -- Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis, ELP, King Crimson, Rush. I'm a big Beatles fan, too. Styx will do the trick now and then. Gordon Lightfoot is a sentimental favorite.
New stuff: Anything offbeat. Beck, Phish, Mars Volta, Pure Reason Revolution, Secret Machines, White Stripes. When I need something mellower, I go with Sarah McLachlan or Jack Johnson.
I think I pretty much stopped liking anything current after the 90s
And I'll go as far back as the late 60s with Woodstock
