This former Frank Zappa/Missing Persons bass player/keyboard player was as good as Tangerine Dream at the "new age" music thing back when it was in and yet there are people who were listening to commercialized "new age" such as Yanni who knew nothing about him.
I saw MSB play at Ohio State University in 1978 of '79. They opened for Dickey Betts and Great Southern during the Allman Bros. breakup years. I also saw the other Allman breakup faction (Sea Level) twice in Columbus back then... they were a true early "jam band."
I wasn't a huge music buyer back when or now but X was probably in my top 8-10 all-time for purchases. I am not quite saying they were a top 10 all-time favorite (probably top 25 - 50) but I bought them to hear them, whereas some other top bands for me were always on the radio. I haven't listened to them much in recent times but they are still pretty solid.
