I checked out a lot of the songs on p.5 that I didn't know. Thanks for the suggestions.

Didn't know Lemmie was in Hawkwind.

I knew and liked this Yardbirds track

There's something that I just can't think of right now. The guitar tones are warm, not grungy.

Highly suspect.

Iommi published SBS September 1973, Vanusa released What To Do 1973 in Brazil, its claimed 4 months before SBS was released.

So, riddle me this, how did Iommi, in Clearwell Castle getting drunk, stoned and suffering writers block could hear a Brazilian pop singers song, early enough to incorporate the intro riff into a song published in the same month as the song was released to its home market?

The intro to SBS is actually pretty straight forward and a common progression. It's about the only thing common between the two tracks. Of the two performers it's so far outside of Vanusa's catalog that if you played Sabbaths catalog with SBS it fits, bit it sticks out like a sore thumb in Vanusa's. That's not to say it was taken from Iommi, but, if I had to choose from historical output I'd think it might be reversed.

For the same kind of progression (different rhythm) pretty much everything its C/D/E in standard tuning (IIRC SBS is down tuned 3 steps).

Also it features that cool first minute of "noise" intro....Warner Brothers records cut that off
the north American album version, I guess they thought it was a "mistake", just like
when Decca Records edited out the noisy section of the guitar break in The Who's "The Kids Are Alright".

They mimed it pretty well...still putting in an effort in 1970 ...couple of years later they
probably wouldn't have.

Drumming is the hardest to mime to "look right"....Keith Moon neverf bothered too...which was funny.
Ian Paice doing an admiral job on Speed King.

For very bad miming to a recording ...check out The Box Tops …"The Letter" ...their 1967 #1 big hit,
youtube video of it indicates on Upbeat TV 1967....yes, the video is from Cleveland's Upbeat TV Show,
but it was done 2 years later, in 1969. The group are all really really high and don't care,
the keyboard player looks at the camera and does a "look mom no hands" routine, hilarious!

You may be right....

I guess Tony Iommi having writer's block at the time and then coming up with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath riff, which kick started a bunch of creativity, allowing the band to finish the album thatg they were struggling to record.

What To do song has many other sections that don't sound like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath at all.
YouTube comments ...people are hearing a bit of another Sabbath song "Dirty Women"...not sure if I hear that...Dirty Women IIRC has a very "stock" chord progression anyway.
The organ section some people are hearing Led Zeppelin's "Your Time Is Gonna Come" …
well the organ "sounds" similar...Hammond B-3/C-3 ...anyway that was an old song by 1973.

Here are a few more songs to add to the list...

The Mickey Finn......Garden of My Mind (1967)
Jo Jo Gunne…...Run Run Run (1972)
Bang...…...Questions (1970)
Paul Revere and the Raiders …..Just Seventeen (1970)….their most hard rockin' song

Ten Years After.....Love Like a Man (1970)
Cream …...Crossroads (live) (1968)…..from their Wheels of Fire album
Chilliwack....Fly at Night (1976) ...not too be confused with Fly By Night by another canuck band RUSH
Lucifer's Friend …...Ride In the Sky (1970) ….proto metal for sure
Rainbow......Man on the Silver Mountain (1975) ….great guitar by Ritchie Blackmore!
