Well, I wouldn't give the album 1 star, I do like it....
but it doesn't compare to their earlier work, in my opinion.

16 times platinum? I actually didn't know that.
I don't follow this stuff that closely.
oh well...

You liked it better than "...And Justice for All"??

I realize people have different tastes in music, of course...
but my eyebrow is still like this: trying to wrap my mind around your statement.

Yep I said what I said. I'm a guy raised on 70s hard rock, wasn't really into the thrash or speed metal genre.

I can see why you liked that album better than the others, then. Makes sense.
70's hard rock... same here.

Back in the day when I listened to Metallica a lot favorites were similar to list below except I'd switch And Justice For All (loved that album and Master of Puppets was BEST...had that old cassette in car for 20 years!) with Ride The Lightning...Black album did very well commercially (with some hits like "enter sandman: etc but not as raw...still some solid songs though) but not as good as earlier stuff to me (would also put Kill Em All above it)...got Load and Reload too...didn't follow them too much after those although of course, they are an epic band!
