Tom Verlaine, critically acclaimed guitarist for NYC band "Television" is dead at 73. Having seen Television over ten times, I can say that they were virtuoso guitarist, and their music transcended the punk label that they sometimes were saddled with.

I am so sad that I'll never be able to see them again.

RIP. Not a single bad song on Marquee Moon, but this was always my favorite. "Broadway looked so medieval..."

Covering "See No Evil" was almost mandatory for many post-punk bands in the 80s. I've heard live versions from R.E.M., the Feelies, and the Replacements. Love Tractor is seen covering the song in the film Athens Ga.-Inside/Out. So many of those bands credited Television as a huge influence.

A few years ago a buddy had Marquee Moon played as the last song at his memorial service. Quite a complement to Television and Tom Verlaine.
