And Zepplin sounds like a black and white TV with the originals. It's just springy reverb, does not grab you in any way like Joe does. Part of it is recording, it's just much better now, you couldn't get Joes intricacies on back in the day recording. Part of it is Joe just knows how to put emotion in his playing and changes dynamics much more than Jimmy Page did.
Same thing if you listen to Joe's cover of Clapton on that same album. Clapton is another one I for the life of me cannot figure out how he became such a lengend. He's got some interesting riffs he originated, but his playing isn't as gripping as modern counterparts. Tony Iommi both created riffs AND a solid sound and a whole catalogue of diverse sounds.

So, if it's going to come down to one person, then it's probably going to be him.
BB King is far and away more deserving here than Hendrix - he was first, is a true genre founding father, actually produced a whole catologue of music to inspire countless other artists to cover... BB had a tone and playstyle he owns.
True talent is determined if a song / artist sticks around after their live audience initial fanbase is gone. So some like the Grateful Dead remain heavily listened to by people who weren't around during their heyday while for someone like the BeeGees - not so much.
The brilliant Gary Moore who was heavily influenced by the likes of Eric Clapton and Peter Green.
Gary's an example where the person that was influenced actually ended up being better than the originators. Derek Trucks is another one, he's eclipsed Duane Allman.
For sheer presence on stage no question. Hendrix. He wowed the greatest, even the guitar god Clapton at the time. Not sure who said it. It was either Clapton or Pete Townsend upon seeing him. Whatever you think you can do on a guitar, Its been done! Stevie Ray Vaughan and then Clapton. I only have three.
