Hits:I Just Wanna Stop(78) and Living Inside Myself in 81 (same song structure as After The Love Is Gone)
I find some his stuff can be either spectacular, interesting, catchy, or dreadfully pretentious and forced
Rock critics hated and ignored him when he was on the A&M label in the 70's; in 85 he switched to Columbia label, changed his sound to a more pop style

I kinda like him, I guess. I didn't like him in the 80's, but I like his songs now. Kinda like, back in the 80's I wasn't really a huge Madonna fan, now I really like her stuff.

O M G!!!!!!!!!!! I had a huge crush on him back in the '80's! I went to concerts, got my girlfriends hooked on him, and listened to his music all of the time. My (at the time) boyfriend was actually jealous. Me...obsessed? Nah.
I have one or two of his songs on my iPod, mostly for nostalgia, I guess.
Thanks for mentioning Gino and bring back a happy memory.

is that
the album with that shrill tune "fly Into This night"?! I liked Love me Now from Storm at Sunup. i thought his most well balanced stuff was from brother to brother in 78 and Nightwalker in 81

I remember Vannelli back in the day, and he was sort of a pretty boy with very long black curly hair, tight pants--sorta like an Italian Stallion image--which might have turned some on but turned me off. Just a tad too greaser and slick then. Hope he's changed ALOT. His music got lost because of his looks then I think.

I like his music, at least the couple of hits I've heard.
I'm going to add him to my list of "artists who have aged well", too.
