Mick Mars, the co-founding guitarist for Mötley Crüe, is suing his former band with claims they kicked hum off, ripped him off financially, and even gaslighted him.
The 71-year-old musician - real name Robert Alan Deal - has filed a lawsuit against the American heavy metal band from Hollywood while they are on their farewell tour without him.
In the fall of 2022, he had announced that he wouldn't be joining his bandmates on tour as he was retiring from hitting the road due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.).
However the legal documents made it clear that Mars would still be able to record with the band and even do some limited performances but wouldn't be able to handle a full tour.
Mars also claims that the band had cut his percentage of profits from 25 percent to just 5 percent after his announcement that he would not be touring.
Hey look, filthy rich rockstars fighting about the money.
But seriously, if he's not touring with them, why would he get money from the tour? Or do they mean that he also only gets 5% of merchandise sales too while on tour?
Mick Mars...great guitar player giving them their distinctive sound...has carried Motley Crue for years...even though their live concerts have really gone downhill in recent years. Liked them in the early 80's though before they got too commercial (check out "looks that kill" 2nd link below). Good Mick Mars link here... https://youtu.be/ZD1h54ZAbm0
