Lots of good hard rock groups came from Germany, such as SCORPIONS, WARLOCK and ACCEPT, plus a number of spin offs just from these three groups, U.D.O., DORO, ULRICH ROTH, MICHAEL SCHENKER, HERMAN ZE GERMAN...

If you like hard rock and Neue Deutsche Härte then Rammstein, OOMPH! and Megaherz are good. I lurve German.

For 80's Heavy Metal my favorite band is ... Helloween.

For 80's New Wave my favorite bands are ... Propaganda, Act and Clan of Xymox.

For 2000's New Wave my Favorite band is Blutengel.

If you want to get into European progressive rock, check out Tangerine Dream. They go back to 1969 or so. A lot of the members have made a lot of solo recordings as well; Peter Baumann, Klaus Schulze, Christophere Franke, and Edgar Froese. Mostly electronic type stuff, and it's kind of "out there"! But I like it!

Not sure if your in techno and Trance music but their Paul van dyke, Atb, Sash and Dj Jorg are all German trance musicians
