I'm trying to find the title of the song or the singer of what some call the "greatest country western cheating song." In the mid to late 70s, there was a song which I believe started with a man telling to his girlfriend how much he loves her. Then the phone rings and he tells his wife he has to work late. She says she misses him but she understands. The phone rings again and the wife tells her boyfriend her husband has to work late and she can't wait to be with him. I don't remember the remainder of the song, but it IS in my mind the "greatest country western cheating song!" If anyone knows the title or the singer, please let me know. Thanks.

"My Girlfriend's Boyfriend Isn't Me"--Autograph

The above post makes me think of Conway Twitty's As Soon As I Hang Up the Phone, but I'm not sure that's the one being looked for.

If it hasn't already been mentioned, Patti Page and the Tennessee Waltz has to be an early one.
