Does anybody remember AXE (early 80s hard rock group)? They've had a minor hit in the States with "Rock 'n Roll Party in the Streets" and a lesser hit with "Heat in the Street"

Yes, I remember them from '83 or '84. Only the one song, not the lesser hit.

"Friday night at midnight, we're all going to get what we need
Let's have a knock-down, drag-out rock and roll party in the street..."

That is one band I wish would've been bigger, I used to think it was Sammy Hagar who did "Rock 'n Roll Party in the Street"

Great band, one of my favs! They are actually from the 70s, and featured members of BLACKFOOT. My fav song by them is BATTLES (the hard to find original version). I've seen them live many times thru the years and have met them several times, great guys!

They reformed not too long ago and are now based in Texas. They play a number of live dates, and have a website and myspace

The other biggie was "Steal Another Fantasy". They should have went farther just like Heaven. The album "Bent" was a pretty decent album...
