I love it when people ask about a forgotten song because lost gems like this get dug up. I haven't heard this song in decades. What a blast from the past.
The only other song I can think of that isn't The Police is this one by Eurythmics, it isn't all about the beat like Da Da Da but it does have the lyrics.
Did you grow up in the 80's? If so, were you a punk rocker? Heavy metal? Hair band type? Or pop? Or did you venture in a mix of them? What are some of your favorite songs from back then?
One of my faves was the band Journey...... "Don't stop believin'...." and "I'm forever yours.....faithfully".
I remember watching a show on the weekends called Night Tracks. Anybody remember this show? It was pre-MTV era.

I was 15 in 1980 which was a good age to be then because of how the music progressed from Disco in the 70's, with dance roller skating, Blondie, she did Rapture which opened the radio up to some rap like rappers delight which was very fun to skate to. I was always into girl bands like Pat Benetar, scandle, go go's, Belinda Carlisle, Nina with 99 red balloons and Till Tuesday.
I went to school around 1980 with rainbow hair from food coloring. No one else was doing it. I also was the only one wearing capezio's, spandex pants and jumpsuits plus I had my biker days with my snake skin boots, motorcycle jacket and tight jeans. I was always known as someone who was into a lot of "weird" music like punk rock. I loved the B52's, Ramones, plus some bands who never made it big that I won albums for at the Jersey shore like the Nervous Rex.
I then got into Motley Crue earlier then most people because a guy I used to see had a copy of their first album. I love that first album as it reminds me of the punk rock I like. I wasn't surprised to read they were going for a punk rock sound. When they toured with Ozzie around 1983, I didn't go to mainly see Ozzy, I was there for Motley Crue, what a great show it was, my seats on the floor, like isle 10! They're still my all time favorite band with their old stuff before Vince was kicked out. Blondie and Guns and roses tied for second.
I also got into heavy metal, all sorts of 80's hair bands and whatever else was available that sounded similar.
I'm thankful I was born when I was, we had the best music in the 70's from the 90's.
