Yuck. Not the best song; it's not even Journey's best song! I really love "Stone in Love", for example.
I am so tired of DSB that if I never hear it again, I'll be happy!
That's true. If ever there was a Journey song we could be sick of hearing it is that one. Once ads start using it to hawk their products then things start going down hill from there.
Hardly. I mean, it's a nice, uptempo, rockin' feel-good tune, and it's a great song to drive or to workout to. And Steve Perry had one of the best voices in rock during his time--along with Freddy Mercury and Dennis DeYoung of Styx. But I wouldn't go so far as to call it the greatest ever. It might crack my Top 10 for the '80's, but that's about it. After all, it's lyrics were hardly profound, and indeed it could even be termed a bit trite.
As a huge Sporanos fan; I nowadays always think of the final episode when I hear that song today.
I imagine there's several good songs for when you're a drunken teenage girl. My Mom liked Green Onions when she was 19 and got drunk. (My Mom is very conservative, but she is also fairly open about dumb or odd things she did in youth) I haven't done a survey of female drunks to think of much more, but maybe whatever is popular with women at karaoke.
Anyway I actually like the song okay, but there are many songs I like better.
I would be more inclined to vote "Green Onions" the best song ever.

Maybe that one won't lose 25 to 1 in a C-D poll.
