Folk music! Both traditional and contemporary, but the contemporary singer songwriter stuff, Think Dave Carter, Dave Olney, Iris Dement, James Keelahan, Leonard Cohen, Pat Maloney, etc. is absolutly the most terrific stuff I have ever heard!

80's New Wave is my alltime fave.

Not sure why i like it the best but it was a fun and cheesy style of music that appealed to me more than any other before or since

This 2007 movie and video clip dioes the ''80's New Wave'' imitation perfect

My taste in music is very much like yours. I love metal and punk, and old jazz and blues. Even though I say I hate country, there are some old country songs I love.

I also like celtic music, African music, some 60s/70s/80s/90s pop, techno, classical, and an occasional bit of opera.

Genres I cannot stand? Disco, 'new' country, and most current pop music.

Thanks to my daughter (age 16), along with my natural curiosity, my taste is music is ever-changing. I would hate to be stuck in one era, or one style of music...it would drive me nuts lol.

Why include ALTERNATIVE but not include METAL and PUNK, much older and larger subcats of ROCK?

Anyway, I picked ROCK.

I have a hard time with genre labels as they have morphed back and forth throughout history and are really very very subjective.

Pretty much all of it, but am also a very picky musician. If it doesn't sonically challenge me, inspire me and keep me from being able to pin down it's musical predescessors/influences readily then I don't bother much with it.
I love hearing new things, juxtaposition of instruments, genres, etc etc...

I'm a total music snob, but it's more of an artist/band specific than I am genre specific.
Also, studio production counts ALOT more to me than most people outside of the studio engineering world.
