I just found out this evening that he died. Another great musician has passed away. This week has been dreadful. Deadly shooting in Kennesaw,GA;earthquake in Haiti, and now Teddy Pendergrass passes away.
Funny, I never knew he was with Melvin & the Bluenotes. But I'm listening to the song now and, yep, there he is, alright. What a voice.
I remember how sad I felt when Curtis Mayfield became quadraplegic, because he was one of my very favorites. Then we lost Luther Vandross at such a young age, and I loved his voice. Now Pendergrass has joined them.
One of my favorite R&B singers of all time. I'm sad to hear of his passing. The R&B artists of his generation had so much talent plus I love the fact that they didn't have thug personas like today's singers do.
