U2 sounds Bond-ish to me.

If he was still alive Robert Palmer could have done something superb, claassy and original IMO.

Difficult topic and that makes it a great one. I'd second Amy Winehouse. She needs another breakthrough and it would be great marketing besides, crass marketing but at least a natural fit. Whoever the artist is, he or she or the band would have to be British, that's just given. Elvis Costello's a good choice too.

I'm thinking something torchy or crooned, so Winehouse works. My other hope might be Morrissey reunited with the Smiths for a one-off. If there's anything that might possibly bridge the gap between him and Johnny Marr I'd pray a signature Bond tune would be it. The Bond franchise reboot has made the character grittier. I've dismissed Lilly Allen since she doesn't have the anthemic oomph, though I like the different class and gender dynamic her lyrical approach might bring. But for a newer artist with some cred I'd say Bat For Lashes is a good choice.

ETA: Anyone but Joss Stone. That would be just too, too predictable.

she is so talented.she is actually unique and doesnt have to have an outlandish performance to get her music and style across(cough# lady gag bag cough#)

i want her to come back so bad.she was good pop music.and way more talented than all the crappy female singers out today.sorry off topic.
