I shall start
Owner of a lonely heart by YES makes me feel like I'm a toddler. (It came out when I was 1, I remember it playing in the mid 80s while riding in my sisters car)
Although the songs came out at different times it's when I heard them on the radio that affected me. For some reason, it's where I was at the time I heard the song that triggers it mostly for me.
Its when Im traveling and dont know the stations I scan the radio. The other day on came Bonnie Tylers "Total Eclipse of the Heart". It was really popular when I was in high school as a date song. I felt depressed, reflective, and old. Such is life. Sorry cant link.
Ahhhhh, it's a hot summer day, up at the swimming pool. Summer Breeze playing over the loudspeakers, cannon-balling into the pool. Pizza at the concession stand. I'm 11 and life is good.
Wings was inescapable during the 70s. I have a very clear memory - about 7 years old, back seat of the car, about 9 at night, riding home with my folks from some night-out-with-friends, as a massive summer thunderstorm descended over Charlotte. I love watching thunderstorms - they are hypnotic to me - so I was pretty entranced as the DJ on some top 40 station segues from this song, into Elton John's "Philadelphia Freedom."
