Will be in the area in late October and really want some great seafood while there. Any recommendations for great, fresh, local seafood? Not as interested in quantity as much as quality.
Thanks
Kate

Restaurants or raw from a seafood store? If a restaurant do you want fried, Calabash-style or do you want the option of broiled or grilles.

Want restaurants. Prefer the option of broiled, grilled or maybe fried too. Just want fresh and local.

While I've yet to go, many here really like the Sea Captain's House at 3002 N Ocean Blvd.

Sara J's in Garden City is really good. My favorite is their fried shrimp. Eat outside on the porch if it's available. They have heaters there when it's cold.

Sea Captain is (as the kids say) the BOMB. It's fresh, good tasting and great atmosphere. It's also right on the water. We were there for a golf trip last month and go there every time we are in Myrtle. 26 years and never a bad meal!

The best there is and always has been. I worked there back in the early '70s. Good friends with the owner. You can't go wrong with Sea Captains!!

Hoskins on Main St., near the ocean, N. Myrtle Beach

Awesome flounder, crab cake, oysters, fantail shrimp, scallops, baked potato.

Salad bar.

Reasonable priced. Baby boomers frequent.
