Lowe's Foods cannot compete with Publix.

I wonder how many of Food Lion's stores in Conway are successful. Most of Food Lion stores lack necessities and extra low prices.

I have heard speculation of Publix coming to Conway.

Not successful? 5 stores in the Conway area and 22 in Horry County. FL dominates there. I don't think they would keep a poorly performing store open for one minute.

What necessities do they lack? I find them to be very reasonably priced especially the Food Lion brands which are really good.

i've found for the lowest prices you can't beat walmart. The dog food cans that we buy 68 cents at walmart, 89 at food lion, hersheys yogurt 58 at walmart, 98 at food lion.

I semi agree. Walmart seems to have the best prices unless you can find them on sale at Food Lion. Their sales are pretty good. Aldi has good prices too. Mushrooms cost 47 cents there. Cheapest around. If all of the markets are close together; you should shop them all to get the best prices.

FL knows how to run a store in resort areas. Staffing / Store sets and pricing models that work well.
