Does anyone know the approx construction cost psf to build a well detailed (custom wood work, highest end appliances, grand stair case, etc).. Also if you know the price on the lower priced basic homes in the neighborhood that info would be great as well, to compare.

I'm weighing building vs. buying a resale or foreclosure.

I don't need lot costs or landscaping factored... Just the actual construction costs.

I don't know what it would cost to build but I just looked up homes in Grande Dunes on the MLS and there are 91 on the market and starting at $569,900 for three bedrooms. next is $698,000 and up from there.

Yes, I look all the time at the listings. I don't like the less detailed homes that are in the sub $800,000 price range. They're not the same quality when it comes to interior details and features when compared to a house twice the size.

Plus I would like a 6 car garage (4 minimum).

CPSF right now, for what you're looking for, will run in the $165 + range. Actually, if you're looking for high end, home automation, Viking, top shelf materials, teak/bamboo flooring, etc... you're probably going to run in the $185-$230 range.

Again, costs will vary widely from builder to builder. It's important to know WHO your builder is and what they have built before. If you'd like the names of a few builders who I would allow to build my own home DM me..
