So I don't know much about the area, but I am considering one of the open positions with the Philharmonic. What do you know about Myra Daniels? Would you work for her?

Sure, she has a very good reputation & the Phil is considered a premier employer in town. Depending on the position, chances are you wouldn't be involved with Myra herself on a regular basis.

I must politely disagree with the previous posters. Though I agree that the Phil is an organization that is important to the community and provides excellent entertainment, I would certainly advise you to steer clear of working for the Philharmonic and Myra Daniels. Undoubtedly, Phil patrons are for the most part going to have a favorable impression of her. I would argue, however, that there are circles where she does not have a good reputation; it really depends on who you are asking. She didn't get to where she is by accident. She is very good at what she does, including keeping up appearances. As I recall, there was once someone else almost as skilled as she is... I forget his name but I remember something about a poison tree and a snake...

Just be careful... talk to people who have worked for her in the past if you are really interested in the position. Read some articles about her, pay attention to any comments. Do your homework, as hopefully you would for any prospective employer.

Good luck in your search!
