It takes 4 to 4 and a half hours to drive to key west. We took longer as we didn't use the alley or the turnpike. Driving in the keys is often slow and if you're a photographer, there's are lots of opportunities to take pictures. Today driving across the trail we saw thousands of egrets, herons and other waterfowl, lots of alligators, some wild hogs and a herd of deer.

We drove down Krome Avenue from 41 to Homestead, there were lots of fruit and nursery stands along the way.

The keys were windy and it was cloudy so the water in the keys was gray and cloudy looking, not it's usualy turquoise blue. Key West was, as always, lots of fun even with the windy weather.

Sounds like a trip I need to do. I'll have to look for an relatively cheap place to stay in the Keys that will allow my pug. I visited Key West about 20 years ago (flew into Miami, rented a car and drove to Key West). I'd love to go back, taking my time on the drive.....

I was thinking that maybe would could just start a general "What'd you do with your day and how'd you like the weather today?" thread that would also include photos from Naples that folks add now and then when they feel like something is too good not to share.

I know this thread is somewhat like that, but the title is misleading, because it says something about the weather and people may just be passing it by now.
It is kind of a pain posting images here but I could do so, at least in a limited way. However, if you can find my page on facebook (Ted Mozer III) I have posted a lot of the pictures there.
